White Cross Memorial 2015 - St. Helen For the seventh year, the 144 memorial white crosses were displayed front and center at St. Helen Catholic Church, for passing motorists on their way to the Great Geauga Fair during the Labor Day Weekend to view and ponder. The accompanying signs reminded motorists of the holocaust of life we, as a nation, have allowed since 1973. That year, the Supreme Court justices declared that pre-born babies were not human beings. Try telling that to the parents who lost their precious child to miscarriage or stillbirth. |
"Black Babies in the Womb Matter" Among the crowd at the rally in front of Planned Parenthood in Bedford Heights, OH on August 29, 2015, were protestant pastors, Catholic priests and faithful members of HELP. Attendees came from all over Northeast Ohio. They came together to give witness to the statement that not only do "Black Lives Matter" but "ALL Black Lives Matter - even those in the womb." The "planned" control of the black population, by the promotion of abortion in black neighborhoods, was "Planned" Parenthood's founder, Margaret Sanger's vision. Adolph Hitler was more overt in his attempt to exterminate the Jewish population. Sanger's approach leads the targeted group to do the dirty work themselves, and they ("Planned" Parenthood) even gets paid to aid in this slaughter! |
Planned Parenthood Protest Five hundred ten people fed up with the conduct of Planned Parenthood, (an organization that calls itself a healthcare provider, when in reality their own words caught on camera show them to be callous, money-mongering purveyors of baby parts) stood in peaceful protest outside the Bedford Heights location August 22,2015 as others did across the nation. |
Free Stamp Park - 2015
On June 26, HELP joined with Cleveland's Life Link Ministry and other pro-life/pro-family warriors at the Free Stamp Park to pray for an end to the attacks upon the Body of Christ by the activist Supreme Court's unconstitutional ruling that denies covenantal Biblical marriage between one man and one woman forever. The day prior we prayed that the forecasted rains of "Biblical proportions" would come to fruition and that the so-called "Gay Pride Parade" would have to be cancelled. Our prayers were answered. The deluge came. The "Parade" was called off. Twenty-five faithful Christians drove through streets sometimes flooded to one-and-one-half foot depths to arrive at the location that would have seen tens-of-thousands pass by in various stages of undress and simulated debauchery. We prayed for an hour and did so on our knees for as long as our advance age would allow. |
PP-Bedford Hts. & Ahuja Medical Center On June 25th, in conjunction with other pro-life allies numbering 35 HELP gathered for a prayer vigil in front of Planned Parenthood in Bedford Heights. This is another example of the ongoing witness at death mills in our area that has seen the number drop to only two surgical abortion mills in the Cleveland Ohio. God is good! Following our presence at Bedford Heights, we travelled to the University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center on Richmond Road. UH partners with Preterm abortion mill and the Warren Buffet Family foundation to train the next generation of killers of preborn children. For three years, and supported by 46 local and national pro-life individuals and groups who co-signed numerous correspondences to University Hospitals, we have implored UH to reconsider their involvement in the abortion cartel. The result has been complete stone walling and a total refusal to respond. |
First Saturday at Preterm
Saturday, May 2, 2015 turned out to be another chilly day here on the North Coast. Faithful souls took time to attend Mass at the abbey and the vigil at Preterm before going back home for First Communion parties, graduations, golf matches, lawn moving and window washing! God bless their presence which saved two babies from being slaughtered. |

A Way of the Cross for the Victims of Abortion
On Good Friday, April 3, pro-lifers across the country took part in “A Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion”. At the same time, prayer warriors from HELP, Lake County Right to Life and other area pro-lifers gathered at noon to join Fr. Max Cole from St. Mary's Berea and Pastor Walter Moss from Canton Foursquare Gospel Church as these clergymen alternated in leading the reflections on the Stations of the Cross. The prayers describing the horrific suffering Christ our Savior endured for us was a somber reminder of the suffering visited on His innocent children 5000 times each year at Preterm abortion mill where we gathered. |
40 Days for Life Spring Campaign Victory Rally 2015
On March 30 at the Victory Rally held at Saints Robert & William Church, one of the speakers was Bishop Roger Gries O.S.B. The good Bishop reminded those in attendance that even though Jesus called us his sheep, that he didn't intend for us to be docile lambs. Bishop Gries said that we are rather to be "lambs that roar"---who roar when we witness injustice. He paralleled the action of 40 Days For Life sidewalk prayer warriors whose personal sacrifice calls attention to the awful injustice of abortion.

Bringing America Back to Life Convention
March 6-7, 2015, members of HELP attended the yearly "Bringing America Back to Life Convention" held in Cleveland that has become an avenue to PAVE the way to a Culture of Life through Prayer, Action, Voting and Education. The guest speakers were experts in these fields, and the attendees came from all walks of life and from all over the country. It was wonderful to meet and talk to others who respect all human life, from conception to natural death, and recognize that success rests on restoring the family foundations. |
Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Dinner 2015 Saturday, February 7, 2015 was the date of this year's ham dinner held at St. Helen Church. Following a wonderful pro-life homily at the 5:00pm Mass, advocates from HELP's cluster parishes, other area churches, and members from Geauga Catholic Teens for Life gathered in the packed gym to dine and to listen to this year's guest speaker, Patrick Madrid, EWTN radio host and Catholic Apologist. His talk was very reaffirming and filled with helpful techniques. Besides the dinner and talk, there were books and CDs available, as well as an opportunity to sign-up for the 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign which begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18th. |

Cleveland March for Life 2015 The March took place on Saturday, January 17th. It began at Cleveland Public Square and proceeded 1/4 mile down Euclid Avenue to the Halle Building for the indoor lunch & program. Sunrise contemporary Christian band provided music, numerous pro-life booths were setup, and Dr. Monica Miller, Founder & Director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society talked about "The Three Lessons I Learned Fighting Abortion." A question and answer period followed. |
MEMORIAM Our beloved Brother Patrick Ryan, OSB, a monk of Saint Andrew Abbey, died January 12, 2015. Brother Pat was well known in the pro-life community for his intense advocacy for the life of the unborn. He became associated with the lay group, "Rosary for Life", which meets at the abbey on the first Saturday of the month for morning Mass, and then proceeds to Shaker Blvd. to pray publicly in front of a facility providing abortions. Brother Patrick preferred to go alone on weekdays and hold is own prayer vigils positioned in the parking lot behind an "abortion mill." At the time Brother Patrick was forced to stop his daily prayer witness due to an inoperable tumor, two of the three facilities he prayed at had already been closed and the third one was under investigation by the State Health Department. We will miss this humble and devoted servant of our Lord and His Blessed Mother Mary. |
First Saturday
The resolve of 40+ Pro-Lifers was put to the test by Mother Nature on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Although overnight temperatures climbed into the 50's, the early morning temperatures that greeted those praying at Preterm allowed for freezing rain to fall. This didn't dampen the spirits of Christ's warriors as the Baptists and Catholics joined together in the affirmation of life.
