"A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong,
gives it a superficial appearance of being right."

-

St. Ed's Mass, Benediction & Rosary for Sanctity of All Life

The HELP Apostolate of St. Edward-St. Lucy and St. Helen parishes once again sponsored this special service with Father Burkley officiating.  The quaint St. Edward's chapel was decorated so beautifully the message of the Christmas season and this occasion were truly felt by everyone in attendance. Thanks again to Lyn Davet for all her dedication in seeing that everything is ready for these special services.
LIFE CHAIN  2014

Fifty-five hardy souls ranging in age from babies to senior citizens sought, through prayer and Christian witness, to be lights in a darkened world and to put an end to the holocaust of killing innocent children. Members of HELP and Geauga Catholic Teens for Life joined with Geauga County Right To Life and parishioners of the Doer’s of the Word Baptist Church and their long-time, dedicated, advocate for the unborn, Pastor Ernie Sanders. Even though Mother Nature provided cold temperatures on"Respect Life Sunday" October 5, 2014, the Christians formed a peaceful and prayerful public LIFE CHAIN at the intersection of routes 322 and 306 in Chesterland. Their presence provided passersby with a visual statement of Christian solidarity and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until the time of natural death.
University Hopitals
UH: This Rainbow Has No Pot of Gold

On Friday, September 5th from 11am to 1pm, we staged a follow-up presence in front of University Hospital's (UH) Rainbow Babies  and Children's Hospital to focus public attention on the fact that University Hospitals of Cleveland are an integral and important part of the abortion cartel in Cleveland.  UH trains their medical students to perform abortions. This training takes place at the Preterm abortion mill. So, if you are 22 week gestational age and are in Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, your UH doctor can be sure you receive all the care one of the nation's top neonatal units has to offer.  However, if you are 22 week gestational age and are at Preterm, your UH doctor can dismember you, crush your skull and "gently empty the contents of your mother's womb" of the rest of what once was you. A rainbow is supposed to have a pot of gold (the realization of all one's hopes and dreams; ultimate success, fulfillment, or happiness) at both ends; however, here in Cleveland our UH Rainbow appears to only have one.
LifeSpring Christian Church
Teen Night Done Right

For second year, LifeSpring Christian Church, Lake County Right to Life, and HELP sponsored a teen night at the church. Saturday evening August 16, 2014,  brought teens together to enjoy live music, games, giveaways, information and free food!
Truth Booth

Truth Booth on the Move
On July 9, 2014, members of HELP delivered the "Truth Booth" to St. John Vianney Parish to be displayed during their parish festival.  Members of their pro-life group were going to be on hand to answer questions and provide literature.
Corpus Christi procession
'Corpus Christi' Procession and Benediction

Our Lady of Peace Church on Shaker Blvd. Cleveland, OH, hosted this annual event again this year on June 22, 2014.. The weather was perfect for the procession to the former abortion mill where prayers of thanksgiving were offered for its closing. Then, we prayed in front of Preterm before returning to the Church for Benediction followed by refreshments.
Rally Outside Planned Parenthood Fundraiser

Under the watchful eye of the Cleveland police, forty pro-life activists rallied outside Tower City entrances where Mrs. Cecile Richards' Planned Parenthood Fundraiser was being held. Their signage drew interest from many passers-by allowing for sidewalk education to take place.
University Hospitals
Pro-Life Presence at University Hospital's Main Campus

There was an ecumenical gathering of over 125 pro-lifers on May 2, 2014, in front of University Hospitals to pray for a conversion of heart of administrators, doctors, nurses, and staff. Our presence also was to alert the community to the diametric roles of UH.  On the one hand, UH Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital is a world renowned facility where many dedicated doctors work daily saving the lives of the littlest ones; and on the other hand, UH trains doctors at Preterm abortion facility to destroy the lives of the littlest ones.  Should the life of a baby really depend on whether it's at 11100 Euclid Avenue or 12000 Shaker Boulevard.
Missionaries of the Gospel of Life

Missionaries of the Gospel of Life Vows

Bi-Monthly Benediction, Mass & Rosary to pray for the sanctity of all human life was held at St. Edward's chapel on April 28, 2014.  HELP was on hand as co-founder, Mike Hollowell, professed promises becoming a Missionary of the Gospel of Life - a Lay Associate of Priests for Life.  Congratulations, Mike!
Life Way of the Cross
Preterm

Life Way of the Cross at Preterm

On a bleak Friday afternoon our Savior, Jesus Christ, was crucified at Golgotha - "the place of the skull". Today, we have our own Golgotha: this abortion mill - Preterm, where more than two thousand years after the Crucifixion His image is violently destroyed again and again by abortion. On Good Friday, April 18, 2014, many gathered for the Pro-Life Way of the Cross in front of Preterm.  It was led by Fr. Richard Plishka and Deacon Max Cole, who in a few short weeks will become the first priest ordained from HELP's own St. Helen Parish.

Family Prayer Day at FPANEO

Saturday, April 12, 2014, faithful Catholic members from Families in Christ Jesus, HELP & GCTFL gathered on the sidewalks at Family Planning NE Ohio in Painesville to pray the rosary. The horn honking and affirming waves of support were heartwarming.   After the rosary, the group filed into nearby Bada-Bing! Pizza for a time of sharing, fellowship & their delicious pizzas. It was a wonderful way to end the beautiful spring day God provided us.

Lakisha Wilson

Lakisha Wilson Memorials and Vigils

Over the course of the last three weeks, members of HELP have joined together with other pro-life groups to show our love and concern to the family of this vibrant young woman.  The passing of Lakisha and her late-term preborn has struck the hearts of those near and far, and served to bring communities and faiths together to help one another deal with this tragedy.
Press Conference at Preterm

African American leaders joined by national and local pro-life activists held a news conference outside the Preterm abortion mill on Wednesday, May 2, 2014 regarding the death of Lakisha Wilson. Questions were raised regarding the silence on this young woman's passing, and the need for answers regarding just what happened.
Death at Preterm

Local pro-lifers were present at Preterm abortion mill during their 40 Days for Life prayer vigil, when a 911 call was placed reporting a 22-year-old woman who had ceased breathing and EMS were dispatched which was recorded by witnesses.  Check Pro-Life News.
Bringing America Back to Life
Bringing America Back to Life A Symposium & Exhibition

HELP was a sponsor and vendor at Cleveland Right to Life's 5th "Bringing America Back to Life" Symposium and Exhibition on March 7th and 8th. This symposium features America's foremost thinkers and policymakers, influencing the political and ethical decisions facing our culture today.  Members of HELP attended the sessions as well as manned the HELP Booth - answering questions and disseminating information regarding the abortion scene in NE Ohio. Networking and meeting the likes of Michael Voris, Star Parker, and Pam Tebow (Tim's Mom) is always a fun part of the two day affair
How Things Change

It's funny how things change. Last night we were praying outside Preterm abortion mill while the temperature was in the single digits. Across the street stands a building that once housed an abortion mill, now closed, in its stead is Perfect Peace Baptist Church. Next morning, we're praying in the same place in front of Preterm, but this time we don't even need to close up our coats.  We pray at the place where countless thousands of God's children have lost their lives;  while 20 yards away on this side of the street stands the empty building that once housed yet another abortion mill. We pray not only for the babies, their parents, the abortion mill workers, and the abortionists; but also, that someday soon this abortion mill will be a thing of the past too.

5 Days of Mourning
 (February 28, 2014)

This ecumenical event was held at the Perfect Peace Baptist Church. The featured speakers were Pastor Walter Moss of the Foursquare Church in Canton, OH and John Noall of 40 Days for Life Cleveland.  After the praise and worship, we processed across Shaker Blvd. to have a candlelight vigil in front of Preterm, Ohio's largest abortion mill. We then gathered back in the church hall for light refreshments.

Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Dinner 2014

Saturday, February 8, 2014 was the date of this year's lasagna dinner held at St. Helen Church. Following a wonderful pro-life homily at the 5:30pm Mass, advocates from HELP's cluster parishes, other area churches, and members from Geauga Catholic Teens for Life  gathered in the packed gym to dine and to listen to this year's guest speaker, Catherine Adair, a former Planned Parenthood worker at the largest abortuary in New England,  who now runs the Respect Life Ministry at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Massachusetts. Besides the dinner and talk, there were several displays for attendees to peruse as well as an opportunity to sign-up for the March for Life Spring Campaign which begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2014 and ends April 13, 2014

A Nation Arises

"I strongly believe that if every pro-lifer prayed and fasted for the end of  abortion,  we  would  see a  greater change in public opinion than anyone could ever imagine. While politics and action may be the face of the Pro-Life movement,  prayer is its strength.  Without prayer, all other efforts are in vain."

Annual Roe vs Wade Memorial Prayer Service
Snow, ice and below-freezing weather didn't stop thousands of people from across the country taking to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to protest abortion in the annual March for Life on Wednesday; nor did it keep 40 faithful Pro-Lifers from attending the prayer service held in front of the Preterm abortuary on Shaker Blvd.,  Shaker Heights, Ohio on January 25, 2014.
Cleveland March for Life
Cleveland March for Life - 2014

The Cleveland March took place on Saturday, January 18th.  It was attended by several hundred die-hard people who endured the bitter cold and blustery winds to speak out on behalf of all life.  Among the crowd were members of HELP and GCTFL who marched from Public Square down Euclid Avenue to the Halle Building. There they enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by Susie's Soup, and listened to the music of The Sunrise before the program of speakers including State Representative Matt Lynch, Congressman David Joyce, and keynote speaker, Dr. Michael Kenney from Madonna University took the podium
LCRTL Annual Justice March for the Unborn
Lake County Right to Life Annual Justice March for Preborn Children
On Sunday, January 12, 2014, hundreds of people gathered at the corner of Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio  and marched the mile to St. Mary of the Assumption School. Members of HELP and GCTFL marched and then joined those people gathered inside the gymnasium, to visit displays by local pro-life groups and to hear guest speaker Eric Charmley from St. Anselm's talk about his personal experience with abortion.  Once again, HELP's "Truth Booth" was on display.
