it's a matter of life 2014
“Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless.”
These are Sanctity of Life weekly bulletin reflections.
12.28.2014 Holding graphic images of the horror of abortion, we are roundly criticized by both pro-life and pro-death supporters as being callous and insensitive to the public who might inadvertently glimpse the images depicting the reality of abortion. Contemplating a sign seen at a rally recently, where the graphic images were displayed, might give those who object a reason to pause and evaluate their objections. The sign read, "When something is so horrible that we can't stand to look at it, perhaps we shouldn't be tolerating it."
12.21.2014 "Comfort seems to be a drug: an addiction that is so powerful it can silence and blind a generation who otherwise seems to care about injustice. It is easy to feed the hungry, get water for the thirsty or clothe the naked. There is no resistance to these acts of justice. The enemy is not fighting tooth and nail to oppose and destroy this work as he is with the abolition of abortion. When we realize what abortion actually is, we must choose to be silent and comfortable, or step out of that comfort into a battle that will stretch and test us." Bryan Kemper
12.14.2014 Joe Stalin said, "One death is a tragedy; one million deaths is a statistic." Repeating facts about taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood (PP) runs the risk of creating apathy thereby deafening us to the truth about their evil business. However, to avoid stating that Americans send PP $1.5 million each day/ over $540 million annually obscures the fact that we not only allow the murder of millions of preborn children to continue, we finance it as well. Our inaction and devastating silence in the face of this knowledge is evidence of our societal cowardice in a time that begs for courage.
12.07.2014 A 29-year-old who became the public face of doctor-prescribed suicide ended her own life on November 1st in Portland, Oregon. Sliding further down the slippery slope, The New Jersey Assembly, on their path to join Oregon, Washington and Vermont passed legislation to authorize the same action in their state. Where it is already legal, records show that most people seek suicide not because they are experiencing pain from illness but because they feel like they are becoming a "burden" or losing autonomy. The reality is that "right to die" rapidly becomes a "duty to die."
11.30.2014 Prior to its passage, Americans were assured the Affordable Care Act would not fundamentally change the way we think about healthcare in America - it would just make healthcare more available. Instead, we see attempts to basically change how our culture thinks about death itself. The chief architect of the Act, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, has stated that he hopes to die at 75. He encourages us to all make the same "mature" decision. He recommends withholding flu shots and colonoscopies from the elderly. To manage the system so the rest of us die at 75 as well is pure evil.
11.23.2014 In a society declining into decadence, language becomes decadent too. In that process words are not used to truly describe, illuminate or clarify but rather to confuse or disguise the truth. The battle to defend the sanctity of human life provides perfect examples. Murder is called "choice" or "reproductive justice" or "a woman's right". "Conception" has been redefined to mean the time of "implantation" in a diabolical effort by the culture of death to deny the humanity of embryonic children. To avoid falling into the trap by using the language of the dark side, we should change our language and pray for human life from "Its EARLIEST BEGINNINGS to the time of natural death."
11.16.2014 The Body of Christ is under attack. Today's anti-Christian mood is fueled by political agendas, government directives, court decisions and biased media reporting. We can empathize with the anxieties the Apostles experienced as they hid in the upper room in fear of the Jewish leaders after the Crucifixion and Ascension. We know that our adversaries will call us haters and bigots when we defend the sanctity of human life and the family. Even so we must stay the course of our Christian commission by loving, forgiving, and doing good to our adversaries. It is our duty. Yet we must do this without giving up, and without being cowardly. We must resist whenever our adversaries demand of us obedience contrary to the orders of the Gospel. We must do so without fear, but also without pride and without hate.
11.09.2014 The Virginia Attorney General has issued a ruling that abortion mills no longer have to report rapes of teenage girls. Planned Parenthood, a billion dollar tax-payer funded business has a long history of doing abortions on rape victims without reporting the rapes to authorities. This ruling is especially disconcerting since the I-81 corridor, a zone known for sex trafficking of young girls goes through Virginia. Planned Parenthood and the rapists who impregnate the young girls can continue their evil while the crimes against the girls continue without legal consequence for the rapists and Planned Parenthood profits from murdering the innocent preborn children of the rape victims.
11.02.2014 Billionaire Melissa Gates co-chairs a family foundation that, under the guise of helping the poor and "bringing the Catholic Church back to its social justice roots', is a radical advocate for Planned Parenthood and any form of contraception, sterilization, and unfettered abortion. Gates states that she questions the Church's "received teachings" on artificial birth control. Humanae Vitae, the Encyclical issued by Pope Paul VI in 1968, reaffirmed the teaching from the beginning that artificial contraception is immoral. Abortion is murder and violates the Commandment, "Thou shall not kill". Gates, a self-described "practicing Catholic", clearly is in need of more "practice".
10.26.2014 Not long ago medical doctors took the classic Hippocratic Oath. Primary in that oath of conduct was the clear operating code, "First, do no harm". At present, an association of the very specialists whom we should be able to trust to care for our children, the American Academy of Pediatrics, has released a new policy statement that says, "Contraception is a pillar in reducing adolescent pregnancy rates”. The Academy actually favors implants or IUD's for teens over birth control pills. From manufacturers warnings, these devices risk serious side effects of "increased risks of ectopic pregnancy and serious thromboembolic events, including cases of pulmonary emboli (some fatal) and strokes.’” These recommendations advance the idea that having sex outside of marriage is totally within the bounds of reason as long as teen pregnancy is avoided at all costs—even the cost of possible death.
10.19.2014 The Ohio Department of Health has released its Induced Abortions in Ohio report--the latest abortion statistics available.. A total of 23,216 induced abortions were reported in Ohio for 2013. Abortions for 2012 totaled 25,473.The three leading counties are Cuyahoga at 5499 (5663 in 2012), Franklin at 3448 (3771 in 2012) and Hamilton at 3448 (3771 in 2012). Preterm abortion mill where prayer warriors with 40 Days for Life began witnessing on September 24 accounts for 85% of the deaths in Cleveland of innocent preborn babies. On March 21 of this year, a young, poor Black woman died there due to a botched late-term abortion. Like all Ohio abortion mills, Preterm operates without a valid license. Our pro-life efforts are focused on closing Preterm.
10.12.2014 While monitoring what goes into children's mouths in school lunches, our federal government has missed the Biblical point of Matthew 15:11. "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man..." Through tax dollar support of Planned Parenthood's evil agenda, our children are defiled with things other than food. Our federal government supports unrestricted access to abortion services for young girls without parental notification and that Plan B and condoms be made available while insisting at the same time that snack foods be restricted to under 200 calories, that salt shakers be banned and bake sales forbidden. When in some schools Tic Tacs are prohibited while the Pill is freely dispensed, doesn't it seem that we need to rethink what we are doing?
10.05.2014 In the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare, 32.5% of all soldiers died. Over three days, 51,112 men lost their lives.. Today in America, when a marker is present indicating the possibility of Down Syndrome, 92% of these preborn babies are killed in a manner more brutal than the deaths at Gettysburg. In our supposedly "civilized culture" it is more dangerous for those with the possibility of being born with an extra chromosome than to have fought at Gettysburg. These children, chosen by God to ignite the kindness that lies dormant in people's souls and to plant the seeds of empathy in our hearts, never get a chance to make us better people for having known them.
09.28.2014 Pro-Life advocates can only win the abortion debate by not allowing the other side to frame the argument. The central issue is the personhood of the child being destroyed and we must keep the discussion focused only on that point. If it is a person, then ending its life because that life will be bothersome, cause economic hardship, interfere with careers or any other of the reasons offered, then abortion cannot be warranted. Embryological science indisputably establishes that from its earliest beginnings, the newly formed embryo is human. It is a unique person. Since we do not destroy other humans for matters of inconvenience or hardship, the destruction of preborn persons at any stage of development can never be justified.
09.21.2014 Consider this. When babies are born sick, we treat them; if disabled, we help them; if found expensive, we sacrifice; if inconvenient, we adjust our lives; if unwanted, we adopt; if unplanned, we change our plans for them. When born in whatever state we care for them, kiss, hug, feed, clothe, fawn over and talk about them. Our hearts are filled with joy. In contrast, before they are born and for circumstances beyond their control 1.2 million American babies are killed and discarded each year. This has gone on for 40 years. Surely Jesus weeps.
09.14.2014 There is an ongoing debate in America. Current federal law allows the killing of preborn children through all 9 months of gestation---right up to moments before birth. Many, including some who claim to be pro-life, advocate that abortion should be illegal except in cases of rape and incest. They attempt to justify their position by saying they support "exceptions" so that 99 percent of the children could be saved and then more laws could be passed "later" to save the rest. This strategy is the polar opposite of Christ's teaching. Jesus taught that we should leave 99 behind to save one (Luke 15:4). It is "all for one" and not "one for all". We must not design to leave one behind on the battlefield to be killed by the enemy, especially when that one is an innocent child.
09.07.2014 The secular feminist "My body, My choice" movement ignores the rights of fathers, and predictably, the plights of fathers as the often times other victims of the decision to end the life of their preborn child. Though men respond very differently to the loss of a child from abortion, the pro-life movement acknowledges their pain and offers healing forgiveness, and a strong affirmation of the value of fatherhood. Men need to know that is it's okay to grieve for the baby they were never allowed to see or hold in their arms, and that it is okay to cry as much and as often as they need for their profound loss. Men need to grieve to help heal the loss and shame. Priests and/or pastors are available at church offices to help men begin the healing process; and, help is also available by phone @ 440.255.5257 or 440.497.7498. Make the call today.
08.31.2014 Founded in 1789 Georgetown University in Washington, D.C is the oldest Catholic University in the United States. A new report from Georgetown suggests that public school children should be exposed to sexually explicit sex education at age 10 – while their views are still “malleable” – and that schools could lower STD and abortion rates by providing all girls capable of reproduction with “contraceptives and safe abortion” without “parental approval.” They conclude, it is unfortunate when children view their parents as the authority on sex. Georgetown advocates teaching children to ignore the mortal sins of abortion and contraception. The Compendium on the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church, #239 teaches, "Parents are the 'original and primary' educators of their children, and their duties... are 'irreplaceable and inalienable'". Sadly, disconnects such as these are far too common.
08.24.2014 Seeing young women leaving the Preterm abortion mill agitated and crying is not unusual. This week sidewalk prayer warriors witnessed just such an event. However, this woman was not post-abortive. This woman was dressed in medical scrubs. This woman was required by her medical school to be there to witness a procedure of a preborn child being dismembered. An uncivilized inhuman process that takes place there almost 5000 times a year. This young woman chose as her life's vocation to train in the noble "healing arts". Instead, in the name of providing proper "health care for women", she is required to train in the evil and ignoble "killing arts".
08.17.2014 Language matters in all areas of pro-life discussions and we must make a constant effort not to let the culture of death redefine words. The importance and power of language was recognized by an infamous communist when he stated, "He who controls the language controls the masses." One example of this redefinition is the word "donor". It used to bring to mind a generous person who gave money to help a cause. When most people hear the word, they think of someone who gives---not someone who gets. Think of how often we hear of "egg donors" in discussions of reproductive technologies. They should be called "egg sellers". Language matters and words like "egg donor" are inaccurate and create in people's minds the positive idea of a gift. Some eggs can "sell" for $50,000. That describes a business transaction. One sells. The other buys. And the process is the modification of the creation of human beings who ought to be begotten not made.
08.10.2014 The announcement by Melinda Gates of the invention of a microchip that will release into a woman's body an abortion causing chemical for a period of 16 years. This development is rife with sinister possibilities. This new device can be used by pimps and those involved in sex trafficking to ensure that their “girls” don’t have a baby implant in their womb. Unscrupulous reproductive health clinics can implant these chips in a young girl’s body to combat teenage pregnancy. Others, who have been pushing the concept of eugenics to “improve” the human race, will now have a way to literally control who does and does not have children.
08.03.2014 The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced the invention of a new microchip capable of being embedded in a woman’s body and being set to deliver Levonorgestrel (an abortion causing chemical) for a period of 16 years. It was revealed that the delivery of the Plan B chemical will be controlled by a remote control device and that the amount of the deadly chemical released into the woman’s body can also be adjusted remotely. In her century, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger used money made by business leaders to pay for the development of the birth control pill. She unleashed the sexual revolution that has caused still untold horrors on the morality and health of the world. Now, in the 21st century, Melinda Gates, who claims to be a Catholic, is becoming the new Margaret Sanger.
07.27.2014 "Cowardice asks the question - Is it safe? Expediency asks the question - Is it politic? Vanity asks the question - Is it popular? But conscience asks the question - Is it right? And there comes a time when one must take the position that is neither safe, no politic, nor popular, but one must take it because it is right." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On Shaker Blvd. in Cleveland a few short years ago, there existed five abortion mills. Now, only one remains thanks to those whose conscience asked the question, "Is it right?" and answered with their prayerful presence and witness on the sidewalks. We thank God for them.
07.20.2014 “Nothing changes the objective reality: abortion kills babies in their mothers’ wombs. Abortion is not merely the removal of some 'tissue' from a woman's body. Abortion is not the removal of a living ‘thing’ that would become human if it were allowed to remain inside the woman’s body. Abortion is the destruction of an unborn baby. Pregnancy is the period for this new human life to mature, not to ‘become human’ — it already is. This is why the Church considers abortion the killing of a human being, and why the Second Vatican Council called it an ‘unspeakable crime’.” John Cardinal O'Connor
07.13.2014 Like members of other "cartels", membership in the abortion cartel is generally hidden from public view. The members deceive themselves that their involvement is altruistic in nature. That women are better off because their efforts remove burdens and barriers to a woman's right to have her own life free from the inconvenience and responsibilities of giving birth to a child. Each member---the abortionist, the so-called clinic, the hospital that trains doctors to barbarically end early human life, the charities that finance the process and the individual citizens who fund the charities are each complicit in the harsh reality that innocent children are dying. The silence from the media, the public, and, in general, churches and their membership allows the cartel to remain in the darkness and thus to flourish.
07.06.2014 On the surface it may seem that the Foundation with its 40.2 billion dollar endowment has had a change of heart and now will embrace the teachings of the Catholic Church to which Melinda claims to belong. No one should be fooled. The Gates' and like-minded mega-wealthy friends adhere to the philosophy that the world is overpopulated and see it as their role to play God and decide when and if women in developing countries should have children. Their Foundation will continue to freely supply abortion causing so-called "contraceptives" such as hormonal pills, RU486 the chemical abortion agent, and IUD's and use the euphemism "family planning" to describe the use of these destroyers of nascent human life.
06.29.2014 In similar fashion today, the majority of citizens and Churches choose to ignore an even greater holocaust being visited on innocent humans in neighborhoods and cities across this nation. The slaughter of these modern day innocents is made possible as local hospitals train abortionists and grant them admitting privileges, as prestigious local and national charities fund the free-standing abortion mills, as law-makers dodge the reality of their ineffective legislation and as media fail to report injuries to and the death of women by an abortion cartel concerned only with the huge financial reward to those who ply the evil trade.
06.22.2014 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6. We who know the Truth have a duty to spread that knowledge to the ignorant even when their ignorance is willful. A lack of knowledge has contributed to the loss of 57 million aborted babies; the ongoing genocide of African Americans; couples using abortion-inducing contraceptives, but who have no problem supporting legislation that provides unjust death sentences for the "sins of their fathers" to innocent children whose mothers are the victims of rape or incest. We have constant opportunities to bring knowledge and light to others who hide in darkness and we are called to speak up and to speak out.
06.15.2014 Who has not seen the "My body. My choice" signs being held by pro-death proponents? This is today's too often used tactic of obscuring reality by reducing it to a slogan. The mentality behind these signs denies the humanity of unwanted or unplanned preborn children and portrays them instead as the equivalent of a parasite, as "the product of conception" to be emptied from the unwilling mother's womb without consequence. The reality, of course, is that a baby is a baby whether it is wanted or unwanted, but pro-deathers delude themselves into thinking that their "choice" is what determines the child's humanity. Sadly, their so often heard mantra becomes the mindset of too many in our churches and political parties and the unjust law of our land remains intact.
06.08.2014 Those who control the language control ideas. By controlling ideas, you can control the way people think and act. Perhaps like no other time, language now has this power and we must be constantly on guard against this evil potential. If we fail to safeguard the personhood of human beings from life's earliest beginning to its natural end, the infant in the womb will be labeled a "pre-person", the person with a severe brain injury will be labeled a "non-person", and seniors with any age related maladies will be labeled "post-persons". And these dehumanizing labels will become justification for destroying the human lives with the new labels.
06.01.2014 Two questions that must be asked: What kind of logic by University Hospitals can justify training abortionists at Preterm to kill children whose only sin is that their earthly presence will be "inconvenient" while trying to save children of the same gestational age born prematurely at Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital? Why should the fate of a child be determined by whether it arrives at 12000 Shaker Blvd. (Preterm) to be dismembered by UH trained abortionists with medical degrees and sharp instruments or it arrives at 11100 Euclid Avenue (Rainbow Babies and Children) to have its life saved by compassionate heroic UH doctors?
05.25.2014 The abortion cartel in America uses tired and worn rhetoric based on deception to defend their business that wages war against the sanctity of human life. Each argument requires that we pretend and play word games, that we repress the reality of their side's horrendous agenda and that we ignore the humanity of babies yet to be born. They rely on fact that because their victims are unseen we will ignore and forget the enormity of the evil and we don't disappoint them. Denial of the reality is assured as they tell their lies calling abortion "health care", and "reproductive rights". They know that if a lie is told often enough, people will end up not only believing it, they will join in reciting the lie. This is the tragic tried and true script of pro-choice deception in America. As the tragedy continues, women are still being hurt and babies are still dying and we pay for it with our tax dollars.
05.18.2014 It seems almost daily that we hear the charge of "racist" leveled at some particular action of some particular individual. Such is the frequency of its use, that the real ugliness of racism is distorted and it begins to lose its true meaning. Here is the word used in a context rarely heard - abortion is racist. The abortion mills, predominately located in black neighborhoods, prey on black women. Black women are five times more likely than white women to have abortions. Breast cancer increases up to six-fold post abortion. African-American women are more likely than all other women to die from breast cancer. Since Roe vs. Wade, the black community has been reduced by 36 million people. Those who promote abortion or vote for pro-abortion politicians can rightly be described as proponents of racism.
05.11.2014 Politicians in both political parties urge people defending the sanctity of human life to work together to find "common ground" on the abortion issue. Such abstract rhetoric has no substance and abjectly denies the fact that there is no "common ground". What common ground could possibly exist when the humanity of an unborn child isn't recognized? There is no common ground between heaven and hell, light and darkness, good and evil and certainly not between either defending or destroying innocent children. These concepts are contradictory by their very nature and have no common ground. St. Paul tells us that "light and darkness have nothing in common." (2 Cor 6:14) Each and every day we must preach the Truth of the Gospel of Life because light and darkness have everything in common if we allow the light to be eliminated.
05.04.2014 The facts are: A woman seeking to abort her child at an abortion mill, first sees "her doctor" after the decision has been made --- after the process has begun --- after she is on already prepped --- and when the abortionist enters the room. Secondly, while a "doctor" can be relied upon to give authoritative counsel in matters of pathology and physiology, a decision to end a human life is a moral matter and , as such, any person who stands to profit enormously from ending an innocent life should have no input in the decision.
04.27.2014 In 1995, the President of the United States vetoed a bill that would have banned gruesome and inhuman partial birth abortions. In September 1996, Congress failed in an attempt to override the veto and the American public failed to react and apathetically accepted a practice that would have horrified primitive cultures. On March 21, 2014 a 22-year-old woman and her unborn child died at the hands of the abortion mill in Cleveland called Preterm. The local and national news media showed little or no interest in publicizing the tragedy perhaps correctly assessing that the majority of their viewers would react with the apathy usually shown. It is a sad commentary on our culture that if a veterinarian had incompetently caused the death of an animal in such a botched procedure, animal rights activists, the media and the general public would be outraged.
04.20.14 ...."In the recent past, the question, "How much is he worth?" would have been understood to be an inquiry about a man's financial standing. Today, with an increasing cultural acceptance of assisted suicide and euthanasia, those very same words can take on a more sinister meaning relating to a person's poor health and an inability to produce material value to society. Health care for each person should be a compassionate Christian goal based on the innate worth of every human person as a unique creation of God and made in His image and likeness - not upon an artificial criteria void of compassion such as whether a person is able to "contribute" in material ways as defined by bureaucratic panels established as a part of any health care act. Value
04.13.2014 Cecile Richards the CEO of Planned Parenthood recently responded to the persistent questions of an interviewer asking her when human life begins with the disgusting, but predictable statement, that the question is irrelevant to the issue of abortion. How can one's humanity be irrelevant to whether someone else has the right to kill him? Was the black person's humanity relevant to the issue of slavery or the Jew's humanity to the ethics of the Holocaust? Not only is the pre-born's humanity relevant; it is the single most relevant issue in the entire abortion debate.
04.06.2014 "As long as one drop of innocent blood is shed in America by abortion, each of us bears the guilt."
Auxiliary Bishop Roger W. Gries, O.S.B. Bringing America Back to Life" Symposium, 3/7/14
Auxiliary Bishop Roger W. Gries, O.S.B. Bringing America Back to Life" Symposium, 3/7/14
03.30.2014 In a phenomena called "Microchimerism" pre-born babies provide living cells that cross the placenta and live for decades in the mom’s blood. These fetal cells remain in the mother's blood stream and mobilize themselves where ever injury is occurring in the body. Most amazing is how these cells can repair a maternal heart. Fetal cells convert themselves into contractile cells and vessel cells that help recover the tissue in case of a heart attack . Amazingly, a woman who has an abortion receives many more fetal cells than the mother who carries the baby to term. It is as if the child experiencing the trauma of abortion — losing his or her life — gives to the mother an extra large dose of his/her life that could improve the mother's health.
03.23.2014 In discussions about Roe vs Wade the pro-life position is often dismissed with the words, "It's the law." - case closed - no need for more words. Under our law, for the child in utero, its very personhood and existential status, its chance for moral consideration, depends upon nothing intrinsic to the child. "Justice" is commonly defined as "getting what we deserve". The decision to kill the developing baby is not based on anything the child did. Under our "system of justice" (which allows abortion at all stages of pregnancy), the fate of the child is solely dependent upon the whim of the mother. An optimally just society would ensure the fair an equitable treatment of all individuals under the law including the unborn. Our society today would not qualify as even approaching being optimally just.
03.16.2014 Planned Parenthood programs aimed at children preach that humans have a "Right to Sex", but if that sexual encounter results in a pregnancy, that child does not have a "Right to Life". Their distorted philosophy is that sex is no longer for procreation or for marital intimacy, it is solely for hedonistic entertainment. Sexual relationships are not to be controlled, but to be hotly pursued, because they are part of being human. In their minds, to do otherwise would hinder “healthy” human growth and development. Sex is a human right, and anything goes, at any age, with anyone, with anything, and with any gender. Cultures embracing this thinking have never continued to thrive. They have all fallen and disappeared.
03.09.2014 We so often hear terms like "reproductive choice", "women rights", "health care". Hearing former abortion workers describe the grisly, everyday reality taking place behind the walls no longer allows us to be deceived by the language. Processing their testimonies, we know that what the culture of death describes as "clinics" are not places where people go for healing medical treatment; and, in fact, the more apt term is "mill". A place that processes things or people in a mechanical way; or, a process whereby a substance is ground to a pulp. This is the awful reality.
03.02.2014 God alone can create life. Each one is precious to Him and has a special part in His plan. Our Heavenly Father has told us He will always care for us. And yet, in our egotism we think that we know better than God does. We "choose" to take the life of an innocent child that was created by God, so as to make a "better life" for the woman entrusted with carrying and nurturing that child to its full God-given potential. What if Mary had thought only of herself and the death by stoning sentence she would receive if found to be pregnant by "someone" while betrothed to St. Joseph? The "timing" was horrible; the "threat of death" was real; the "plan" she had for her life was turned upside down. Yet, she said "Yes," trusting that God would take care of her and her situation. And, let us not forget St. Joseph's response. At first he thought to quietly divorce Mary so as to save her from death; but then, he trusted in what the angel told him and took Mary (and her child) into his home. Seven men made abortion "legal"; 57 million of God's children know abortion is "lethal."
02.23.2014 U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers gave birth to three children while serving in Congress, including her son, Cole, who has Down Syndrome. She spoke eloquently of Cole in her rebuttal to the State of the Union Address: "When we looked at our son, we saw possibilities. We saw a Gift from God. Today we see a six-year-old boy who dances to Bruce Springsteen, who reads above grade level, and who is the best big brother in the world. We see all the things he can do, not those he can't. Cole has made me more determined to see the potential in every human life....We are not defined by our limits, but by our potential." Today in America, when prenatal testing shows just a possibility of Down Syndrome, 92% of these children are not allowed to draw their first breath.
02.16.2014 Though the Supreme Court didn't accept the fact in 1973, today science is unequivocally clear that human life begins at conception when a new human being is formed. If one of our probes to the Red Planet discovers bacteria to exist there, we will proclaim, "There is life on Mars!" And yet, when probing ultrasounds clearly detect a beating human heart as early as 5 weeks gestation, why do we continue to allow our unjust laws to deny human life exists in the womb?
02.09.2014 Though billed as "health care", barbaric medical procedures of the past like blood-letting, insulin shock therapy, electro-convulsive therapy, lobotomies and others were eventually discontinued because of the proven damage they caused. Today, supporters of abortion and the government itself claim that abortion is a medical procedure which is part of "health care" and it is paid for by every American taxpayer. None of these proponents can name a single disease that abortion cures or a single medical benefit that it brings. Meanwhile, abortion is killing children and harming women for life every single day. Bad cantaloupes, tainted meat, and bacteria infested spinach are immediately removed from the market because of the potential harm they might cause and yet abortion remains abundantly available even in the face of its proven harm to women.
02.02.2014 To see the continually mounting abortion toll in America, we can click on http://www.number of abortions.com/. There are other sites as well. All the US abortion counters sites show results with one decimal place ticking off a piece at a time. This was originally done to show that these abortion counters are active and not a static count. If you can bear to witness the grisly reality of any of the various surgical abortion procedures, you realize that the each abortion takes place in pieces over time so depicting the rising count in pieces of a whole by using decimal places accurately depicts how the grim reality occurs 1.2 million times each year.
01.26.2014 Praying in the bitter cold in front of a Cleveland abortion mill, we were shaken to witness a woman pulling on a mid-teen's hand. Whether the girl's tenuous steps were due to uncertainty over what was about to take place or the fact that she was blind as evidenced by her white cane, this sad scene serves as an apt metaphor. Her blindness can be likened to our culture's blindness in its approach to abortion. We will not look at the graphic images. of unspeakable horror. We turn a blind eye to the litany of negative health consequences abortion causes women. We refuse to look at the world-wide research studies showing as much as a six-fold increase in breast cancer rates in post-abortive women. The woman tugging at the girl's hand may not have known. The girl may not have known. We do know. Yet, we too often choose the blindness of denial.
01.19.2014 The 41st annual March for Life will be held in Washington, D.C. on January 22, 2014 remembering the anniversary of the United States Supreme Court's decision legalizing abortion in the case Roe v. Wade the unjust law that allows abortion of the innocent child within the womb. In heaven, the Blessed Mother Mary comforts these little ones who never had a chance to speak and holds all of them in her arms as they leave earth by the hands of evil. Mary is the Mother of us all and she carries these babes to her Son. St. Joseph, the protector and guardian helps in this heavenly aid. These innocents are always loved and wanted in heaven. Pray to end Roe v. Wade.
01.12.2014 “Saving Lives and Respecting Rights Through Implementation of the World Health Organization's Safe Abortion" is one of the programs Melinda Gates is advocating for African women. If the health of African women was truly her central concern she would be building clinics, training medical providers, building schools and fighting for the rights of African women to be educated. She would be using her billions to insure clean water sources and healthy food supplies instead of persisting in imposing the risky medical strategies of abortion and contraception on African women. If we truly care about these impoverished women, we must expose the ruse that portrays population control as health care and counter the work of those who peddle death with healthy initiatives that promote life.
01.05.2014 Planned Parenthood continually claims it did not use the $542 million tax payer dollars it received in 2012 to promote its abortion business. It does readily acknowledges that it uses taxpayer dollars to encourage promiscuity by teens and even to impact very young children with its twisted messages. Their so-called "sex-positive sex education" imperils the health and well-being of America's youth. The Center for Disease Control estimates that nearly 20 million new sexually transmitted infections occur every year in this country, half among young people ages 15–24. About one third of teens who get pregnant seek an abortion. Currently, 24 of every 1,000 teens has an abortion equating to over 200,000 teens aborting every year. None of these statistics interfere with Planned Parenthood's insidious goal to fill their coffers as they to continue to sponsor the recreational making and the surgical unmaking of teenage mothers.
