THESE ARE OUR "SANCTITY OF LIFE" WEEKLY BULLETIN REFLECTIONS
12.30.2012 For abortion to happen, people with a medical degree and sharp instruments must be willing to commit crimes against humanity 3500 times each day. These people need serious conversion, and our prayers will bring many of them out of the darkness and into the Light. Catholics believe Christ to be the Light of the world. He is the Light for all those who are hidden in the darkness of death behind the guarded walls of America’s abortion mills. May this New Year bring us renewed commitment to shine Christ's Light into the deepest recesses of our homes, families and those caught up in the evil abortion culture.
12.23.2012 ”As we make final preparations for Christmas, truly the most pro-life of seasons, we should ponder how the ‘yes to life’ of one young woman, a poor woman, a “yes” that signified total faith in God – despite human uncertainties – allowed the plan of God for man’s salvation to come uninterrupted to fruition. Celebrating this Christmas we celebrate the life of Jesus, the life God has given each of us, and the lives God has allowed us to touch. As we commemorate the birth of Christ we are grateful for the sacred gift of life He has given to each one of us and the eternal life He has promised. Merry Christmas!!
12.16.2012 ”Our Church teachings are under increasing attack by the so-called “progressive” thinkers in our culture. The Eternal Truths based on God’s law are often ridiculed and derisively characterized as being ignorant, unenlightened and even bigoted. This is particularly true in cases of infanticide when we defend the 5th Commandment “Thou shall not murder” .The secularists continually promote their high-sounding position of “choice”. They defend their specific choice solely on the basis that it is a “choice” while ignoring the fact that not all “choices” are legitimate. Using their twisted logic, the “choice” to enslave, to steal, to rape, to exterminate populations would be acceptable because, after all, all of these crimes might be someone’s “choice”.
12.09.2012 The Humane Society of the United States ads running again this holiday season show baby seals, dogs, cats and other animals who have been sadly mistreated and encouraging contributions to fight this deplorable situation. Because we are basically compassionate people, these ads produce hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions. Similarly graphic ads showing the reality of abortions are rarely seen on TV. These pictures are said to offend our sensibilities. Does it seem that something has gone wrong when we can’t ignore animals being mistreated but regularly react with apathy when it comes to infanticide happening 3500 times each day in America? |
12.02.12 The state laws of Montana, Washington and Oregon permit “physician assisted suicide”. We witness in America a growing concern for the “economics” involved when people are identified as being in a class where their inability to contribute meaningfully takes precedent over their individual liberty and a right to life. By this thinking, we have taken a giant step on the slippery slope toward having a “duty to die”. Leaders of the “aid in dying” movement in our country have voiced support for ending the lives of people who never asked for death, whose lives they see as meaningless or as a costly burden on the community.
11.25.2012 A bumper sticker for Planned Parenthood says, “Every child a wanted child”. Who could disagree with that partial sentence? If the sentence were completed saying, “so...let’s find families where we can place children who are desperately wanted and where they will be love” that would describe the pro-life position advocating adoption in cases of crisis pregnancies. Planned Parenthood’s partial sentence when completed would be ”...so, let’s identify those 'unwanted' children before they are born and kill them.” If truthful, their slogan would be “Every unwanted child a dead child” but that doesn’t look so good on a bumper sticker. In 2011 they killed 329,445 “unwanted” children and referred 841 women to adoption agencies.
11.18.2012 Recently, I read a new term to describe how the secular culture of death deceptively twists words to suit their evil agenda. That term is “verbicide”. The National Institute of Health found that the public had a negative reaction to “embryonic stem cell research” that describes destroying human embryos by experimentation. They chose instead to call it “human pluripotent stem cell research”. The new term masks the reality that tiny humans are dying during the research. Rather than discontinue an unethical procedure which has cost taxpayers untold millions and has not yielded one single cure for disease, they found another name.
11.11.2012 Lord, having been blessed in portions as no other nation before us, we have forgotten your grace bestowed upon our country and we now tolerate, racism, genocide, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, pornography, human trafficking, abominable sexual unions, denial of religious liberty, destruction of the family the basic unit of our society, and extreme poverty within our borders. “If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
11.04.2012 Tuesday, November 6th is Election Day. Our bishops teach faithful Catholics to vote in accordance with the teachings of the Church, especially on the most fundamental issue of all: human life. To permit abortion, but then to cry out for the right to work, housing, education, health care, immIgration reform, banning of capital punishment and environmental issues ignores the primacy of human life. America 2012 may well be the most aggressively pro-abortion culture the world has seen. Catholics can't choose to violate the 5th Commandment - "Thou shall not murder." It is not an option in our daily lives or at election time.
10.28.2012 “If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace” said Thomas Paine. If we want our children, grandchildren and generations to come to live in peace, we must make hard choices. Today, at this time in our history, our freedom and liberty are in peril because of a frontal, governmental attack upon our Catholic faith via the HHS Mandate. If you fail to act to defend the faith now, think about how you will answer the question your grown up children and grandchildren might ask---“Where were you when freedom died?” How will you answer them? |
10.21.2012 "The question to ask is this: Are any of the candidates of either party, or independents, standing for something that is intrinsically evil, evil no matter what the circumstances? If that is the case, a Catholic, regardless of his party affiliation, shouldn't be voting for such a person." Archbishop William Lori, Diocese of Baltimore, Maryland.
10.14.2012 “You can never vote for someone who favors absolutely the right to choice of a woman to destroy a human life in her womb. Where you don't have any candidate who is proposing to eliminate all abortion [voters may] choose the candidate who will most limit this grave evil in our country. But you could never justify voting for a candidate who not only does not want to limit abortion but believes that it should be available to everyone." Cardinal Raymond Burke, Cardinal Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the Vatican.
10.07.2012 The murder of one child often occupies our thoughts as we are reminded about it through sensational media coverage for months on end. As Christians, we should certainly feel sorrow and heartfelt compassion at such a senseless loss. Yet, the fact that millions of children have been exterminated in America since 1973 is another case altogether. This horrific reality rarely bears even a passing mention on TV, in the newspapers, or magazines. Americans, who can be so moved by the loss of one life, manage to go on with our lives never facing the “Inconvenient Truth” of abortion. Which is the greater sin, the fact that 55 million have been murdered or the fact that we are so apathetic that we go on with our lives never giving it a second thought?
09.30.2012 Prior to elections in an attempt to marginalize their stand against abortion, Pro-Life Catholics are often reminded that “we are not one issue voters’. The reality is that abortion is not one issue. Fifty-seven percent of all African American pregnancies in NYC end in abortion---clearly racism and genocide. Abortion, racism and genocide are all issues of intrinsic evil. That is three issues. When our USCCB teaches that on issues of intrinsic evil there can be no compromise when making voting decisions, they are not choosing political sides. They are fulfilling their roles to pass on to us, teaching based on the eternal and unchangeable Truth of God’s natural law as taught by Jesus Christ.
09.23.2012 Our Bishops teach that before voting Catholics have a duty to properly form a Faithful Conscience based on God’s law and not merely a subjective, considered opinion based on the world’s law. Early in the Bible, Gen 3: 15, God reveals that there exists, separated by enmity, two competing camps. One is the seed of the serpent and the other is the seed of the woman. They are easily recognizable. The mantra of the serpent’s seed is, “My body, my choice”. They obscure their “Choice” to murder preborn babies as a “woman’s right to reproductive health care”. This camp defiantly boasts, “I’ll do what I want, when I want, with whomever I want.” Their favorite tune is the theme song of Hell, “I Did It My Way.” When challenged, they repeat their one great commandment, “Thou shall not judge me.” The seed of the woman’s camp stated humbly and obediently is, “Not my will, but Thy will be done.”
09.16.2012 “For a long time the practice and understanding on the part of all parties was that religious groups positively impacted the quality of life in our beloved country by putting into practice the good works our faith calls us to do. Now, however, our government has opted for a different approach relative to religious groups and how they carry out their religious acts. This direction comes without a thorough civil conversation within our country. The result of this 'new direction' is that it conflicts with Religious Freedom as guaranteed by our Constitution. Never in my life did I ever think I would see such a sorry situation in our country.” Bishop Richard G. Lennon
09.09.2012 Our General election is 57 days away. As Christians we need to take seriously our God given responsibility to know where candidates stand on the most critical moral issues of our time. That responsibility demands that we not go blindly into the voting booth without first understanding the various issues that threaten our Church, our families, our freedom and our nation. As Archbishop Chaput put it, “The future depends on our choices right here, right now, today---together”
09.02.2012 Family Planning Association of Northeast Ohio (FPANEO) has announced that they are opening an office in Chardon. This organization dispenses free contraceptives to children without parental consent. They refer pregnant women to Cleveland abortuaries to have their babies murdered. They encourage sexual activity among teens. They embrace the gay/lesbian lifestyle. HELP has a plan to fight this organization taking root in Geauga. If you are concerned about this attack on the morals of our community and are willing to join the fight, contact HELP.
08.26.2012 In addition to abrogating Constitutionally guaranteed Freedom of Religion by requiring Christians who believe that contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs and sterilization are morally wrong pay for these sinful practices, the Affordable Care Act regulation that took effect on August 1, 2012 mandates that health care plans in Oregon will now be required to provide free sterilizations to 15-year-old girls even if the parents of those girls do not consent to the procedure. These are two blatant examples of why the Affordable Care Act should be repealed. |
08.19.2012 As important as they are, some things are more important than high gas prices or a faltering economy. They are life, marriage and freedom and a failure to protect these values contains the seeds of destruction for American society. This November, Catholics must stand up and speak out by voting to protect our sacred rights from unjust law that denies our rights to freely practice our religion and to follow Catholic teaching. "An unjust law is no law at all.… A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law." Saint Augustine
08.12.2012 On the eve of Hitler’s attack upon Britain, Winston Churchill prepared his people with the statement, “Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization.” As of August 1, 2012, the formal persecution began of Catholic colleges and universities that wish to remain faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The current administration is forcing Catholic colleges to help students and employees obtain no-cost sterilizations, abortion-causing drugs and contraceptives, and also "counseling" promoting these practices. It is not hyperbole to say our response to this the attack upon our Church holds the same dire possibility that Churchill described for Britain. The very survival of our Catholic faith depends upon whether we choose to act at the ballot box in November or choose to ignore the stark reality of the spiritual warfare in which we are engaged.
08.05.2012 Our Declaration of Independence states, that we Americans have God-given, inalienable rights among which are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The Affordable Care Act by funding abortion and requiring religious institutions to pay for employee contraception and sterilization has abridged the rights of Life and Liberty. Americans will soon make a fateful choice. On November 6th, they will either choose leaders who will work to restore the foundations of Life and Liberty or leaders who value only the pursuit of happiness. As of today, August 5th there are 94 days remaining until Election Day. Which kind of leaders will you choose in the voting booth.
07.29.2012 Before the Affordable Care Act (ACA) passed through Congress, it was famously said, “We need to pass this Bill so that you can find out what is in it.” It passed. It was upheld by the Supreme Court to be Constitutional and we now “know what is in it.” It pays for both abortion and contraception and so a more truthful title would have been the Abortion and Contraception Act. No matter how many times we hear these facts deceptively characterized, we must remember the Truth ---Pregnancy is not a disease. Abortion is not health care. Contraception is not health care. Bishop Fulton J. Sheen said, “The Truth is still the Truth even if no one believes it and an error is still an error even if everyone believes it.” On November 6th, American voters have an opportunity to elect officials who have the intent and ability to correct the damage done by the ACA.
07.22.2012 On a July 4th two hundred and thirty-six years ago, America’s Founding Fathers announced to the world that a new nation of free men would be dedicated to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” It would never have entered their minds to accept living with just one of these rights. But the so-called “Affordable Care Act” and the accompanying HHS Mandate by funding abortion, rationing health care and denying freedom of religion do just that. Election Day is November 6th this year and affords voters an opportunity to speak up for just treatment of unborn, disabled, and elderly citizens and all people of faith by electing those who defend Life and Liberty through their legislative and executive actions.
07.15.2012 As life, faith, family, and culture are faced with assaults from the most menacing threats in decades from the implementation of the Affordable Care Act that the Supreme Court found to be constitutional, we must remember that citizens can still put aside this law. We would do well to remember the Court’s past wrong decisions---Roe vs. Wade ( the unborn are not human persons), Dred Scott (blacks are not human beings), Plessy vs. Ferguson (State laws requiring racial segregation were constitutional), Minor vs. Happersett ( women could be forbidden to vote). The Supreme Court doesn’t have the final say. This November 6th, we must become informed and vote for those individuals who legislate to preserve our Constitutional liberties.
07.08.2012 With the Supreme Court decision on June 28th that “The Affordable Care Act” is constitutional, Catholics and all who cherish the dignity of human life need to examine their conscience in the run up to the elections in November. The nice sounding name of the legislation obscures the underlying evil of this law that is the largest expansion of abortion and abortion funding since Roe v. Wade. The legislation forces all Americans to fund abortions, has a mandate that forces religious groups to pay for abortion-inducing drugs for their employees and contains language that will result in the rationing of lifesaving medical care---each of which is in opposition to Church teaching. Faithful Catholics must remember this in the November election.

07.01.2012 Archbishop Designate William E. Lori on the HHS Mandate states: “This is not a matter of whether contraception may be prohibited by the government. This is not even a matter of whether contraception may be supported by the government. It is instead a matter of whether religious institutions may be forced by the government to provide contraception and sterilization even if it violates their religious beliefs.” Join Catholics across America in support of our Bishops in the “Fortnight for Freedom” from June 21st through July 4th in protest over the administration’s assault on our Constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of religion.
06.24.2012 Catholic’s defense of our faith must not end when the “Fortnight for Freedom” closes on July4th. Our faith is under attack in all sectors of the public square by those with a variety of ungodly agendas. We would do well to remember and adopt the words of Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. “”Unless we recover the zeal and the spirit of the first century Christians---unless we are willing to do what they did and to pay the price that they paid for the future of our country, the days of America are numbered."
06.17.2012 “Are you hungry?”, “What can we do to help you?”, “Are you safe?”, “Do you need a place to stay?” “Do you want to enroll in our school?” These are all questions Catholic agencies across our nation ask every day of people with important needs. In order not to be required to fund sterilization, contraception and abortion inducing drugs for their employees, the administration’ s Health and Human Services mandates that Catholic agencies must first ask the question, “Are you Catholic?” and receive an affirmative answer before providing services. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is asking that we pray and advocate for reversal of this policy. The “Fortnight for Freedom” will run from June 21 through July 4. Please join this nationwide effort in defense of our religious freedom.
06.10.2012 On May 31, our elected representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives voted down legislation that would have made illegal the practice of gender based abortion. During the debate they followed the protocol of referring to each other as “Gentle Lady” and “Gentlemen.” Succumbing to intense pressure from Planned Parenthood and our President who did not support the bill, their votes killed the bill and will kill girl babies in the womb just because they are girls. Voting as they did, they assured that Planned Parenthood will continue to fill their campaign coffers. Their pretense of civility in the decorum of the debate does not change the fact that barbaric dismemberment of 20-week-old preborn girls will remain legal. God have mercy on their souls and also on our Nation. |
06.03.2012 Marriage is a onetime sacramental covenant between one man and one woman that is open to new life and lasting until death. These unchanging Truths are from the Natural Law originated in the mind of God. Some men, through a process they call “evolved thinking” discover in their own minds their own supposed “truths” that are opposed to those Truths revealed by God. When these dissidents, whether they occupy vocations of clergy or religious or the offices of Vice President, former House Speaker, Secretary of HHS or U.S. Senator, submit to their own human arrogance, publicly extol their own erroneous conclusions and write them into human law they have joined Adam and Eve in the sin of thinking they know better than God.
05.27.2012 In order, the most common causes of death among American women are heart attack, cancer and stroke. The administration’s “Health Care Mandate” guarantees that all working women will be provided free hormonal contraceptives and abortion inducing drugs which have been established by research as causing increased risk of heart attack, cancer and stroke. The words used by one of Washington’s purported “catholic” politicians to describe a bill that would have banned taxpayer funded contraception as “The most comprehensive and radical assault on women’s health in our lifetime.” more accurately describes the HHS mandate. It is truly an assault on women’s health.
05.20.2012 Almost daily, we hear in the media about the Church’s “War on Women”. The “War” is real but it is not being waged by the Church. The US House of Representatives recognizes in H.R.33541 that “Sex-selection abortions are performed in the United States.” Females are killed by abortion because they are females. Pro-abortion feminists have no issue with this. In their mind, mythical “reproductive rights” trump every other right, even the right to life of other females. This very real “War” is being waged by those who purport to be defenders of women’s rights not by the Church.
05.13.2012 In today’s culture of death, encouraged by Hollywood, the secular media and funded by our tax dollars, many see motherhood as a burden and a crisis. The Bible is very clear about motherhood: “Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.”
Psalms 127:3 NAB
Psalms 127:3 NAB
05.06.2012 Commenting on the Obama administration’s recent HHS Mandate: “This is about religious freedom not contraception.” Timothy Cardinal Dolan 3/29/12. Addressing proposed governmental overreach of his day: “To compel a man to furnish funds for the ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical”. Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Statutes of Religious Freedom, 1779. Denial of American religious liberty was not tolerated in 1779 and will not be so 233 years later. Support our bishops in the Catholic stance against the administration’s attempt to usurp our First Amendment Rights.
04.29.2012 In a long and shameful era of American history, human beings were wrongly treated as property and denied liberty because they were not considered persons under the Constitution. 1973 began another disgraceful time for us and continues today when other human beings, the unborn of all races, are wrongly treated as property and denied the right to life for the same reason; because they are not considered persons under the Constitution. It is inconsistent and illogical thinking when those in political power rightfully fight for civil rights and yet refuse to recognize the civil rights of the unborn. |
04.22.2012 Because the baby in the womb is created in the image and likeness of God, the willful homicide of a baby through abortion is deicide, the killing of God. Planned Parenthood killed God 329,455 times in their last fiscal year receiving $487.4 Million from American taxpayers for their consummate evil and bringing their net assets as of June 30, 2010 to $1,009,606,000 (that’s BILLION). As long as the funding of Planned Parenthood continues, all taxpayers underwrite this sinful business. Planned Parenthood is not about “woman’s health care”, it is about murder for profit.
04.15.2012 "What an irony that a society confronted with plastic bags filled with the remains of aborted babies should be more concerned about the problem of recycling the plastic.” Winifred Egan
04.08.2012 Lord Jesus, You are the Lord of all life. In rising from the dead You have conquered the entire kingdom of death. Make each of us a voice for life, especially for children threatened by abortion, the elderly and the infirm. Fill us with Easter joy, for you live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
04.01.2012 Senomyx, an American biotech company, supplies additives for research to amplify flavors and smells in food to Pepsi, Nestle, and Kraft that are derived from human embryos. Faithful Christians cannot be indifferent to this hideous fact. We are appalled at the thought that human skin was used for lampshades during the holocaust. Even when the by-products of murder are intended for a use that obscures their malevolent source, we must never be blinded to the reality of the intrinsic evil that made those products possible.
03.25.2012 Those who would deny the First Amendment right to free exercise of religion claim the Church is “waging a war on women”. The war is being waged not by our Church but by their own side. It is being waged by those who say that a woman’s body is broken and that she needs to take a pill to fix it. They advocate girls being fed powerful hormones while boys are told at the same time not to use performance-enhancing hormones. According to the World Health Organization the pills they urge girls to take are in the same cancer-causing category as asbestos and cigarettes. There is certainly a war being waged on women and it is not the Church who is waging it.
03.18.2012 “No provision in our Constitution ought to be dearer to man than that which protects the Right of Conscience against the enterprises of civil authority.“ Thomas Jefferson . . . . Freedom of Religion---It’s A Right of Conscious Issue. Stand with our Bishops against the HHS Mandate as they defend our right to the free exercise of our Catholic Faith.
03.11.2012 Our U.S. Bishops are unanimous in their opposition to the Health Care Mandate issued by the administration’s department of HHS. The consensus of their response is stated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan: “This is not just about contraception, abortion causing drugs, and sterilization although all should recognize the injustices involved in making them part of a universal mandated health care program. It is not about Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberals. It is about people of faith. This is first and foremost a matter of religious liberty for all.” The attack on our religious liberty points toward Cardinal Francis George’s chilling prediction of where such denial of freedom will lead “I will die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.”
03.04.2012 The administration’s so-called "Contraception Mandate" includes IUDs, the morning after pill, Ella, Plan B, and a host of other prescriptions that are by no means strictly "contraceptive" in nature. These devices and chemicals abort the growing embryo prior to the fetus implanting in her mother's womb. Any method that entails the destruction of the developing baby is not true contraception, but is the abortion of an already formed, living, and unique human individual. Catholic teaching defines abortion as an intrinsic evil and a mortal sin. The mandate should be called what it is---a forced abortion mandate.
02.26.2012 Cardinal Timothy Dolan commenting on the mandate that employees of Catholic institutions be provided contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs: "Religious freedom is a fundamental right of all. This right does not depend on any government's decision to grant it: it is God-given, and just societies recognize and respect its free exercise. The free exercise of religion extends well beyond the freedom of worship. It also forbids government from forcing people or groups to violate their most deeply held religious convictions, and from interfering in the internal affairs of religious organizations. Recent actions by the Administration have attempted to reduce this free exercise to a "privilege" arbitrarily granted by the government as a mere exemption from an all-encompassing, extreme form of secularism."
02.19.2012 The encyclical, Humanae Vitae, prophetically warning of the dire consequences to which decisions about artificial methods of contraception would lead, Pope Paul VI stated: “…careful consideration should be given to the danger of this power passing into the hands of those public authorities who care little for the precepts of the moral law. … Who will prevent public authorities from favoring those contraceptive methods which they consider more effective? Should they regard this as necessary, they may even impose their use on everyone.” The recent mandate from the administration that the employer provided health care policy of every working American woman must include paid for contraception, the abortion inducing “morning after” pill and sterilization should cause alarm in the hearts of Catholics and all citizens who cherish the free exercise of religion clause of the First Amendment of our Constitution. Encyclical Letter Humanae Vitae of the Supreme Pontiff Paul VI.

02.12.2012 A lieutenant in the Rwandan army commenting on his country’s genocide: “It was indifference that allowed our tragedy to occur. It was indifference that not only infected us, but the whole world. Indifference allowed intellectuals and politicians to tell us that one ethnic group was somehow less human than others. It allowed one group to be abused by another. And finally we, through our supreme indifference, allowed neighbors to be butchered by other neighbors.” Indifference was the back story in Nazi Germany. Our indifference is already the story behind abortion in America. Our continuing indifference will lead to the acceptance of euthanasia for the elderly and disabled.
02.05.2012 Imagine that you are resting in bed. If you are perfectly comfortable in your current position, what would motivate you to change positions? Discomfort is what tells us that we may need to shift our position. We live in a country where 1.2 million human beings are put to death each year by surgical abortion. The magnitude of that evil should make each of us very uncomfortable. If all of America’s 77 million Catholics were made uncomfortable by message that 2500 preborn people are being killed each day and voted only for candidates that support Church teaching, their individual discomfort would cause our society to shift its position.
01.29.2012 During the next 10 months as we endure the run up to the 2012 election, listen closely as politicians explain their positions. History shows us that when elected, those who hide behind politically correct positions when questioned as to when human life is first present, will not support laws or policies that defend the sanctity of life. When these politicians are elected, Catholics who cast their vote in support of pro-death politicians cannot escape a personal responsibility for the destruction of human life that results. Faithful Catholics believe that from the moment of the Consecration it is Christ and from the moment of conception it is a child. These two beliefs should always be foremost in our minds as we enter the voting booth.
01.22.2012 There are numerous Biblical instances when God made major changes and transformations after a period of 40. The use of 40 is representative of a journey with an underlying focus. On this Sunday, HELP will join an estimated 500,000 as these faithful people begin to gather in Washington, D.C. to be present on Monday for the Annual March For Life on the 39th anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade court decision that makes legal the destruction of human life in the womb from conception to the time of delivery. As we begin the 40th year of this national shame, please join us in prayer that this year will be the one in which our country will be changed and transformed from the most abortion minded country on the planet to a nation that respects the sanctity of all human life.

01.15.2012 One of the most common arguments put forth as a rationale for abortion is that many of these children would be born into homes where they would suffer abuse. There is nothing we can do to end all child abuse, just as there is nothing we can do to end all murder, stealing, or any other crime. People will always hurt each other. But many people have had terrible childhoods full of abuse and neglect yet and have gone on to not only lead successful lives, but even change the world. Child abuse is a tragedy, wherever and whenever it occurs. Sadly, we do not live in a world where every child is wanted by its parents. However, we can live in a world where every child has a chance to live and to fulfill the unique purpose for which God created them.
01.08.2012 Abortion in America is an enormously profitable business. If one were to visit their websites, read their advertisements, or listen to the propaganda in our secular media and believe what you hear you would come away thinking they exist not to make a profit but to provide for women’s health. Compare services in a pregnancy center where unpaid volunteers working out of the goodness of their hearts provide free pregnancy testing, ultrasound, adoption counseling, help filling out insurance papers, a place to live and any other needs of the mother and baby. Call or visit a local abortion mill (they prefer “Woman’s Health Center”) and ask them to provide a free abortion. See how that works out.
01.01.2012 Our society has a tendency to push to the edges of our own lives the plights of our vulnerable members. In today’s youth-obsessed culture the elderly become invisible. We are uncomfortable around the disabled who struggle with physical and mental limitations so we distance ourselves. We are shamed by our indifference to the epidemic murder of the unborn and close our eyes, ears and hearts to their now silent cries. We become busy with life and we forget that in God’s plan all life is sacred. Life is lived in many forms and should be celebrated in all of its times and stages from conception to earthly birth to the moment when our last breath is drawn and we are born to eternal life.
